Ron & Eleanor have done a wonderful job in creating the perfect surroundings for a cozy & comfortable stay. Our room was nicely decorated, bed quite comfortable & included a den for relaxing. Location is very walkable to local restaurants & waterfront. Breakfast was all homemade and delicious.

The presentation of the breakfast plate was sub standard and the taste of the food was lacking. Of the six guests seated at our table two refused plates and the other guests left the grits barely touched because of excess salt. The two who refused the plates asked for something else and were offered white toast. The toast was placed on the table but the guests had to ask for plates.

Based on our past experiences with B&B breakfasts, the breakfasts served at this establishment would rate 3 stars at best.

When we were seated, one half a place setting was missing. Another guest was missing a teaspoon which was replaced with a soup spoon.

This was an excellent bed and breakfast experience. Owners Ron and Eleanor Fry were very friendly and accommodating. Aunt Clara's cottage was spacious and very inviting. The only drawback was the busy street both in front and on the side of our room (the Elmo). The street is very close to the side of the building therefore the noise level was a nuisance. It seems like everyone in town used these streets as a cut through? In addition it seemed like everyone in town drives a loud truck or plays load thumping music. This was the off season so I can only imagine what the busy season is like! We had a great time in Natchez and enjoyed our stay but the noise level at night when you are trying to rest is annoying.

Devereaux Shields House, Aunt Clara’s Cottage Breakfast.

I offer these comments in hope that management will improve the breakfast offering and train the wait staff to improve the level of service.

We found the hotel excellent. It catered for our needs with tea, coffee and amenities. The hotel was extremely clean. We would like to return one day, as we only had one night in Natchez and believe it deserves more! If only we had time! Our hosts were extremely helpful and willing to assist. We look forward to coming back one day to their delightful hospitality.

When one of the guests requested hot milk for their coffee, the server looked bewildered by the request.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. We stayed in the Gallery Suite which is fantastic. Even though it is December, it was warm enough one day for us to relax on our private balcony for a few hours (under a blanket of course!).
